Ye Gentyllmanly Cooke is the trade name for In a Crystal Garden’s range of home grown fruit and veg, free range eggs and home made organic produce, including hys most faymous pies, ye gads! These are available in season at the gate or to order.
The Medieval name was initially inspired by a local fair, but it has since developed a life of its own! Medieval foods were overwhelmingly organic, local and sustainable, which is exactly what YGC aspires to with its own produce.
Ye Gentyllmanly Cooke insists onlie on those parts and ingredients in hys kitchen which are honest and true and cultivated from natural ground, with no addition of sondry noxious messes devised by the alchemists and magicians, forsooth.
So – no chemicals, no additives, no genetically modified stuff – just wholesome goodness, just as Nature intended.
YGC is most proud to be a member of Ye Wholesome Food Association.
A booklet of original and authentic Medieval recipes is available for the princely sum of £1.00:
proceeds are for the benefit of the organ fund at the Church of St Michael of Betchworth.
